This past Monday I had the pleasure of a drive around Northern Michigan with my folks. . . Gaylord's Imagiknit (lovely shop with a charming dog - and this from a confirmed cat lover ;-) and the Stonehedge Fiber Mill. There were a few stops for antique shops & ice cream, but for me the yarn & fiber were the thing of course!

It was right off the highway, and if you've ever been to a lake cottage, it had a definite lake feel to it. They make the luscious "Shepherd's Wool" here! Lovely merino yarn in gorgeous colors.

Rustic beauty. They have seventy some sheep of various breeds, I'm told, as well as goats, ducks & geese. The owners started the Castle Farms Fiber Festival. I've been once, and it was fabulous - not just for the vendors & such, but the pretty setting. I'd say it's definitely worth the trip.
The farmyard - a naughty sheep who jumped the pen in the background, very saucily looking back at his shepherdess!
